Description
Crispy, golden pastry balls filled with warm cinnamon apples and gooey caramel these Apple Caramel Bombs are a heavenly bite-sized dessert that bursts with flavor in every bite.
Ingredients
2 large apples, peeled and diced
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp flour (optional, to thicken filling)
8 soft caramel candies or 1/4 cup caramel bits
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated biscuit or crescent dough
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling
Oil for frying or baking (depending on method)
Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add diced apples.
2. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour if using; cook until apples are tender and mixture thickens (about 5 minutes). Let cool slightly.
3. Flatten dough portions and place a spoonful of apple mixture and a caramel candy in the center.
4. Wrap dough around filling, pinching edges to seal tightly into a ball shape.
5. For frying: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry bombs until golden brown, 2–3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
6. For baking: Place on parchment-lined sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes or until golden.
7. Drizzle with extra caramel and serve warm.
Notes
Use pre-made caramel sauce for quicker prep.
Try serving with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
You can air-fry at 360°F for 8–10 minutes for a lighter version.
Make ahead and refrigerate before baking or frying when ready to serve.
