Description
A traditional and fresh Mexican guacamole made with ripe avocados, lime juice, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapeño simple, creamy, and full of flavor.
Ingredients
3 ripe avocados
1 lime, juiced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup diced onion
1 small tomato, diced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced (optional)
1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
Instructions
1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
2. Mash the avocados with a fork until mostly smooth but still slightly chunky.
3. Add lime juice and salt, then stir to combine.
4. Mix in diced onion, tomato, cilantro, and jalapeño (if using).
5. Taste and adjust salt or lime juice as desired.
6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos and burritos.
Notes
For extra flavor, chill guacamole for 30 minutes before serving.
Keep leftovers fresh by pressing plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent browning.
Use ripe but not mushy avocados for the best texture.
