Description
A quick and flavorful beef stir-fry loaded with tender strips of beef, crisp vegetables, and a savory-sweet sauce perfect for a weeknight dinner that comes together in minutes.
Ingredients
1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 cup broccoli florets
1 small carrot, thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 inch fresh ginger, grated
For the Sauce:
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 cup beef broth or water
Instructions
1. In a bowl, toss beef with 2 tbsp soy sauce and cornstarch; set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
2. Whisk together the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
3. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
4. Add beef and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned; remove from pan and set aside.
5. Add garlic, ginger, and vegetables to the pan; stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender.
6. Return beef to the pan and pour in the sauce; stir until everything is coated and heated through.
7. Serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
Slice beef thinly against the grain for the most tender results.
Add chili flakes or sriracha for a spicy kick.
You can swap veggies with snow peas, mushrooms, or baby corn for variety.
