For the Cake Batter:

1¾ cups all-purpose flour

1½ teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs, room temperature

½ cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)

¼ cup whole milk

2 tablespoons bourbon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

2. In a saucepan, melt butter, add brown sugar, bourbon, vanilla, and cinnamon. Simmer until bubbly.

3. Pour the caramel into the prepared pan. Arrange peach slices on top in a spiral.

4. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

5. In a separate bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy.

6. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Mix in sour cream, milk, bourbon, and vanilla.

7. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.

8. Gently spread the batter over the peaches.

9. Bake for 45–50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
