Description

This Butter Pecan Praline Poke Cake is ultra-moist, rich, and loaded with buttery pecans and caramel praline sauce. It’s the perfect easy dessert for holidays, potlucks, and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

1 box butter pecan cake mix (plus required ingredients)

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 jar (12–14 oz) caramel sauce

1 cup chopped pecans, toasted

1/2 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup heavy cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

Whipped cream, for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat oven according to cake mix instructions. Prepare and bake the butter pecan cake in a 9×13 pan.

2. While the cake is warm, poke holes all over the surface using the end of a wooden spoon.

3. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake so it soaks into the holes.

4. Warm the caramel sauce and pour it evenly over the cake as well.

5. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer and cook 3–4 minutes until thickened.

6. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and toasted pecans to create the praline topping.

7. Pour the warm praline sauce over the cake, spreading evenly.

8. Let cool completely, then chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

9. Top with whipped cream before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, toast the pecans before adding them to the praline sauce.

This cake tastes even better the next day once fully chilled.

Swap caramel for butterscotch sauce if you prefer.
