Description
Crisp apple wedges dipped in rich caramel and topped with a variety of fun toppings an easy, mess-free twist on classic caramel apples that everyone will love.
Ingredients
3 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
1 (11 oz) bag soft caramels
2 tbsp heavy cream
1/4 cup crushed peanuts or pecans
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
1/4 cup crushed pretzels
1/4 cup sprinkles or shredded coconut
Wooden sticks or skewers
Nonstick spray or parchment paper
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat with nonstick spray.
2. Wash and dry apples thoroughly, then slice each into thick wedges. Insert a wooden stick into each wedge.
3. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with heavy cream, stirring until smooth and creamy.
4. Dip each apple wedge into the caramel, letting the excess drip off.
5. Immediately roll or sprinkle each caramel-dipped wedge with your choice of toppings.
6. Place finished wedges onto the prepared baking sheet.
7. Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes to set the caramel before serving.
Notes
To prevent browning, dip sliced apples in lemon water before adding caramel.
Use melted chocolate instead of caramel for a different flavor twist.
These are best enjoyed the same day for the freshest crunch.
