Savory bite-sized mushrooms filled with a rich, creamy cheese mixture and baked until golden a classic crowd-pleasing appetizer perfect for parties and holidays.
Ingredients
16 oz button mushrooms
1 tbsp olive oil
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Optional: red pepper flakes
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Clean mushrooms and remove stems; finely chop the stems.
3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté chopped stems and garlic until softened.
4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, sautéed stems, parsley, salt, and pepper.
5. Stuff each mushroom cap generously with the cheese mixture.
6. Arrange stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet.
7. Bake for 18–20 minutes until mushrooms are tender and tops are golden.
8. Serve warm.
Notes
You can add cooked bacon or crab meat for extra richness.
Use a small cookie scoop for evenly stuffed mushrooms.
These can be assembled ahead and baked just before serving.
