Description

Delicious and hearty Cheesy Meatball Subs filled with juicy meatballs, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil for toasting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Roll the mixture into small meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake meatballs for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and golden.
  5. While baking, heat marinara sauce in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Add baked meatballs to the marinara sauce and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  7. While simmering, cut hoagie rolls lengthwise to create pockets.
  8. Fill each hoagie roll with meatballs and sauce, then top with mozzarella cheese.
  9. Drizzle olive oil on the outside of rolls and bake for an additional 10 minutes to melt cheese and toast rolls.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs or adding vegetables to the meat mixture.
