Description
Juicy, flavorful chicken street tacos made with marinated grilled chicken, fresh lime, cilantro, and a warm corn tortilla perfect for taco night or a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp lime juice
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
8 small corn tortillas
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
2. Add chicken thighs to the bowl and toss to coat evenly. Marinate for at least 20 minutes (up to 2 hours for best flavor).
3. Preheat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until fully cooked and slightly charred.
5. Remove from heat, let rest for 5 minutes, then dice into small pieces.
6. Warm corn tortillas on the grill or in a dry skillet.
7. Assemble tacos by filling each tortilla with chopped chicken, onion, and cilantro.
8. Serve immediately with lime wedges.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a drizzle of creamy chipotle sauce or avocado crema.
Use chicken breast if preferred — just reduce cooking time slightly.
Top with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, or cotija cheese for variety.
