- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar (white or brown)
- 1/2 cup oil or melted butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease and line a cake pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, eggs, sugar, oil, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- If you want extra chocolatey goodness, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
