Description

A delightful chocolate banana cake that combines rich chocolate flavors with sweet ripe bananas, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar (white or brown)
  • 1/2 cup oil or melted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease and line a cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, eggs, sugar, oil, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  4. If you want extra chocolatey goodness, fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
