- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 cup chocolate ganache (for filling)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine wet ingredients in another bowl: vegetable oil, vanilla, buttermilk, and egg.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined. Stir in boiling water.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool the cupcakes in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Fill each cupcake with chocolate ganache using a knife or corer.
- Frost the cupcakes with chocolate frosting.
