Description

A festive, soft, and aromatic sweet bread swirled with buttery cinnamon sugar  perfect for holiday mornings or as a cozy winter treat.


Ingredients

Scale

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1/2 cup warm milk

1/4 cup warm water

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp salt

1 large egg

For the filling:

1/3 cup brown sugar

2 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsp melted butter


Instructions

1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture.

3. Knead dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

5. Punch down dough and roll into a rectangle.

6. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.

7. Roll up tightly and place in a greased loaf pan.

8. Cover and let rise again for 30–40 minutes.

9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.

10. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk for extra sweetness.

Add raisins or chopped pecans to the filling for more flavor.

Perfect served warm with butter or alongside a cup of hot cocoa.
