Ingredients
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso
1 tbsp instant coffee granules (optional, for stronger flavor)
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. In a small saucepan, combine cream, brown sugar, and brewed coffee.
2. Place over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.
3. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
4. Stir in instant coffee granules (if using) for a deeper flavor.
5. Remove from heat and whisk in butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
6. Let the sauce cool slightly; it will thicken as it cools.
7. Serve warm or at room temperature over your favorite dessert.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Reheat gently before serving.
For a mocha twist, add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder with the sugar.
