  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, for serving
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the vegetables: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent (3 to 5 minutes).
  3. Brown the meat: Add ground beef or Italian sausage, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned (5 to 7 minutes).
  4. Add the tomato ingredients: Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning. Let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Make it creamy: Stir in heavy cream and heat through for a couple of minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Combine pasta and sauce: Toss cooked fettuccine in the sauce until well coated.
  7. Serve: Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
