Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup whole milk, warmed to 110°F (43°C)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

Filling:

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

Icing:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

23 tablespoons milk

Decorations:

1/4 cup melted chocolate or black icing gel

Gummy worms, candy spiders, or chocolate sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine 2 1/4 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

2. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until smooth.

3. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.

4. Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

6. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.

7. Roll the dough into a 15×9-inch rectangle and spread softened butter over it.

8. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the butter.

9. Roll up tightly from the long side and slice into 12 rolls.

10. Arrange the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch pan. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.

11. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 22–25 minutes or until golden brown.

12. While rolls bake, beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until creamy.

13. Spread icing over warm rolls.

14. Use melted chocolate or black icing gel to draw spiderweb patterns on top.

15. Decorate with gummy worms or candy spiders for a creepy-crawly finish!

Notes

For extra spookiness, drizzle red icing for a ‘bloody web’ look.

You can prepare the rolls the night before and refrigerate overnight; bake in the morning.

Try adding chopped pecans or mini chocolate chips to the filling for extra flavor.

Best served warm with a glass of milk or hot cider.
