Description

Delicious, plant-based alternative to traditional chicken nuggets, perfect for reducing meat intake while enjoying comfort food.


Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of plant-based milk
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture by wrapping it in a clean kitchen towel and placing a heavy object on top for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into nugget-sized pieces.
  3. Prepare the coating by mixing flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Set up a breading station with flour mixture, plant-based milk, and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
  5. Breading the nugget: dip tofu in flour, then milk, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  7. Fry the nuggets for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Drain excess oil using paper towels before serving.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Use firm or extra-firm tofu for best texture. Customize spices and try different types of breadcrumbs for added flavor.
