- 1 block of firm tofu
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 cup of plant-based milk
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of onion powder
- 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture by wrapping it in a clean kitchen towel and placing a heavy object on top for 15-20 minutes.
- Cut the pressed tofu into nugget-sized pieces.
- Prepare the coating by mixing flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Set up a breading station with flour mixture, plant-based milk, and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
- Breading the nugget: dip tofu in flour, then milk, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the nuggets for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain excess oil using paper towels before serving.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
Use firm or extra-firm tofu for best texture. Customize spices and try different types of breadcrumbs for added flavor.
