Description
Golden, crispy waffles topped with fresh berries and drizzled with maple syrup.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs (separated)
1 3/4 cups milk
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup fresh berries
Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions
1. Preheat waffle iron.
2. Whisk dry ingredients together.
3. Separate eggs; whip whites to stiff peaks.
4. Combine yolks, milk, butter, and vanilla.
5. Fold wet and dry ingredients together.
6. Gently fold in egg whites.
7. Cook in preheated waffle iron until crisp.
8. Serve with fresh berries and maple syrup.
Notes
For extra crispness, place cooked waffles on a wire rack.
Freeze leftovers and reheat in the toaster.
