- 8 sheets of phyllo dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup semolina flour
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup honey, warmed
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it with melted butter.
- Layer the phyllo dough, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Make the filling by combining semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
- Pour the filling over the phyllo layers evenly.
- Top with the last sheet of phyllo and brush with melted butter, scoring lightly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for 10 minutes, then drizzle with honey and sprinkle sesame seeds.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. It pairs well with vanilla ice cream or fresh fruit.
