Description
Soft and chewy bright green Grinch cookies topped with a red heart sprinkle festive, fun, and perfect for Christmas baking with kids or holiday parties.
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Green food coloring
1/2 cup red heart sprinkles or cinnamon hearts
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Beat in egg and vanilla extract, then add green food coloring until desired shade is reached.
5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until combined.
6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
7. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
8. Immediately press a red heart sprinkle into the center of each cookie.
9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Do not overbake to keep cookies soft and chewy.
Gel food coloring gives the best vibrant green color.
Cookies store well in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
