Description
A hearty stovetop chili made with ground beef, spices, tomatoes, and beans for the ultimate comfort meal.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp oregano
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
1 can kidney beans, drained
Salt & pepper to taste
Fresh cilantro, shredded cheese, and sour cream for garnish
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté until softened.
3. Brown the ground beef until no longer pink.
4. Stir in tomato paste and spices.
5. Add crushed tomatoes and kidney beans.
6. Simmer for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7. Adjust seasoning to taste and rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a spicier chili, add chipotle peppers or jalapeños.
Chili thickens as it rests, so allow 5–10 minutes before serving.
