Description

Flaky, golden hand pies filled with a sweet mixed berry filling and cut into adorable heart shapes  a festive, handheld dessert perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.


Ingredients

Scale

2 refrigerated pie crusts

1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tbsp cornstarch

1 tsp lemon juice

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 egg

1 tbsp milk

Coarse sugar for topping


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a bowl, mix berries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla.

3. Roll out pie crusts and cut heart shapes using a cookie cutter.

4. Place berry filling in the center of half the hearts.

5. Top with remaining hearts and seal edges with a fork.

6. Whisk egg and milk together and brush over pies.

7. Sprinkle with coarse sugar.

8. Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden.

9. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use strawberry, blueberry, or raspberry filling for variety.

Seal edges well to prevent leaking.

Serve warm or at room temperature.
