Description
A thick, soft, and chewy heart-shaped cookie cake loaded with chocolate chips and baked golden the perfect shareable dessert for birthdays, Valentine’s Day, or special celebrations.
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips
Buttercream frosting for decorating (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a heart-shaped pan.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
3. In another bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add egg and vanilla extract; mix until fully combined.
5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just incorporated.
6. Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
7. Press dough evenly into prepared heart-shaped pan.
8. Bake for 22–26 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
9. Cool completely in the pan.
10. Decorate with frosting if desired, slice, and serve.
Notes
Do not overbake to keep the center soft and chewy.
Use mini chocolate chips for cleaner slices.
Cookie cake can be made a day ahead and decorated before serving.
