Description

Hobo Casserole is a classic comfort dish that combines ground beef, potatoes, and cheese for a hearty, budget-friendly meal perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Combine the cooked beef and onion with sliced potatoes, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Season with salt and pepper, then stir well.
  4. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by lightly greasing it.
  5. Spoon the beef and potato mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
