1 ½ cups boiling hot water
½ cup vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
1. Mix cornmeal and salt in a bowl.
2. Carefully pour boiling water into the cornmeal and stir until dough forms.
3. Shape mixture into small patties with oiled hands.
4. Heat oil in cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
5. Fry patties 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
Notes
