Description
Classic Italian meatballs made with a blend of ground meat, Parmesan cheese, herbs, and garlic, then simmered until tender and juicy perfect for pasta, subs, or serving on their own.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
3 cups marinara sauce
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, eggs, milk, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper.
2. Mix gently until just combined.
3. Form mixture into 1 1/2-inch meatballs.
4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
5. Brown meatballs on all sides, working in batches if needed.
6. Add marinara sauce to the skillet and gently coat the meatballs.
7. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 25–30 minutes until meatballs are cooked through.
8. Serve hot over pasta, in sandwiches, or as an appetizer.
Notes
Do not overmix the meat to keep meatballs tender.
You can bake the meatballs at 400°F for 18–20 minutes instead of pan-frying.
Meatballs freeze well before or after cooking.
