Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup M&M’s (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
3. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder; stir just until combined.
4. Fold in chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of M&M’s.
5. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
6. Top with remaining M&M’s for a colorful finish.
7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
8. Cool completely before cutting into squares for clean edges.
9. Serve as is, or warm slightly and top with ice cream for an extra treat.
Notes
For extra fudgy brownies, underbake slightly and chill before slicing.
