Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
1/3 cup melted butter or oil
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Green or purple frosting
Candy eyes for decoration
Colored sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In another bowl, combine milk, yogurt, melted butter, egg, and vanilla.
4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
5. Fold in chocolate chips gently.
6. Divide the batter evenly among muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
7. Bake for 16–18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.
9. Spread or pipe frosting on each muffin, then add candy eyes and sprinkles to make monster faces.
Notes
Tint frosting with food coloring for colorful monster looks.
Use edible glitter or gel icing for fun expressions.
These muffins freeze well without decorations — frost before serving.
