Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 cup marinara sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Season chicken breasts on both sides with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
3. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
4. Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
5. Reduce heat to medium, pour marinara sauce over the chicken, and spoon some on top.
6. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the chicken.
7. Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
8. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
Serve with spaghetti, garlic bread, or a side salad for a complete meal.
Use homemade or high-quality marinara for the best flavor.
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
This recipe can also be made with chicken thighs for a juicier option.
