Ingredients

Scale

**For the Dough:**

3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 large egg

1/2 tsp salt

12 tsp red or pink food coloring (gel preferred)

**For the Filling:**

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon

**For the Cream Cheese Frosting:**

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

12 tbsp milk (to desired consistency)

Instructions

1. Warm milk to about 110°F. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and a pinch of sugar in warm milk; let sit until foamy (5–10 minutes).

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, salt, butter, egg, and pink food coloring.

3. Add the activated yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.

4. Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

6. In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling.

7. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick).

8. Spread filling evenly over the dough, then roll tightly from the long side to form a log.

9. Cut into 10–12 rolls and place in a greased baking pan.

10. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

11. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.

12. While baking, prepare frosting by beating cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.

13. Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

For deeper color, use beetroot powder or gel food coloring instead of liquid.

Add crushed freeze-dried strawberries to the filling for a fruity pink flavor.

These rolls freeze well — reheat gently and frost before serving.
