Flaky, golden-brown puff pastry appetizers that are irresistibly crispy and versatile — perfect for parties, holidays, or any time you need a crowd-pleasing bite-sized treat.
Ingredients
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup crumbled feta or goat cheese
1/4 cup caramelized onions
1/4 cup diced cooked ham or bacon
1 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, or rosemary)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and gently roll it out.
3. Cut into squares or circles using a knife or cookie cutter.
4. Add a small amount of filling (cheese, onions, ham, etc.) in the center of each piece.
5. Brush edges with egg wash and fold or pinch as desired to seal.
6. Place on baking sheet and brush tops with more egg wash.
7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
8. Cool slightly before serving, and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Experiment with different fillings like spinach and feta, pesto and mozzarella, or brie and cranberry.
Serve warm or at room temperature for best flavor.
Can be made ahead and reheated in the oven for 5–7 minutes before serving.
