Description
This Bloody Red Velvet Popcorn is a spooky-sweet treat coated in a vibrant red cocoa glaze, baked until crispy, and finished with a dramatic white chocolate drizzle. Perfect for Halloween parties and horror movie nights!
Ingredients
10 cups popped popcorn (about ½ cup kernels)
½ cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp red food coloring
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp salt
Optional: white chocolate drizzle for contrast
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar, cocoa powder, and red food coloring until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
3. Pour the red velvet mixture over the popcorn in a large bowl. Toss gently to coat evenly.
4. Spread coated popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring halfway through.
5. Allow to cool completely. Break into clusters and drizzle with melted white chocolate for a bloody effect, if desired.
Notes
Use air-popped popcorn for a lighter version.
