Description
These Rosemary Parmesan Mozzarella Pretzels are soft, cheesy, and packed with savory flavor. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or creative party treat.
Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
1 cup warm water
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated parmesan
2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
1/4 cup baking soda (for water bath)
1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Mix warm water, yeast, sugar, and let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
3. Add flour, salt, olive oil and knead until smooth and elastic (8–10 minutes).
4. Let dough rise for 20 minutes, then divide into 8 equal pieces.
5. Roll each piece into a rope, flatten, and fill with mozzarella and rosemary.
6. Seal and twist into pretzel shapes.
7. Boil each pretzel in baking soda water for 30 seconds.
8. Place on baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle parmesan on top.
9. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes with the cheese.
To store, wrap in foil and keep at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Great for freezing; reheat in a 350°F oven for best texture.
