Ingredients

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 cups potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl until well blended.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a plate.
  4. Brown the meatballs in a skillet with heated olive oil for about 5-7 minutes on all sides.
  5. Transfer the browned meatballs into a baking dish and pour the beef broth and ketchup over them.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes.
  7. Prepare the mashed potatoes by boiling the chopped potatoes in salted water until tender, then draining.
  8. Mash the drained potatoes with milk, butter, garlic, and parsley until smooth and creamy, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  9. Serve the meatballs over the garlic herb mashed potatoes, drizzled with the baking sauce.
