Description
A deliciously rich and comforting pasta dish made with tender cheese tortellini, juicy shrimp, and a velvety garlic butter sauce. Quick, flavorful, and perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
9 oz cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Cook tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
2. Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat.
4. Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove from skillet and set aside.
5. Reduce heat to medium and add remaining butter to the pan. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
6. Pour in chicken broth and lemon juice; simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
7. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer until the sauce thickens.
8. Add cooked tortellini and shrimp back to the skillet; toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
9. Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan before serving.
Notes
Use spinach or mushroom tortellini for extra flavor.
Add a handful of baby spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for a colorful twist.
Best served immediately, but leftovers can be reheated gently with a splash of cream or broth.
