Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease two round cake pans.
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with the milk until smooth.
- Add the fresh orange juice and orange zest, stirring until combined.
- Divide the batter evenly into the prepared pans and level the tops.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
- Let cakes cool in the pans before transferring to a wire rack.
- For frosting, beat the unsalted butter until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar and orange juice until fluffy.
- Once cooled, frost the cakes and serve.
