Description

Delightful treat combining chewy mochi texture with sweet, juicy fresh strawberries.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweet rice flour (mochi flour)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Cornstarch (for dusting)
  • Fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • Sweetened red bean paste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine sweet rice flour, water, and sugar in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Transfer mixture to a microwave-safe dish, cover, and microwave for 1 minute.
  3. Stir the mixture, then microwave for another minute.
  4. Cook for an additional 30 seconds until sticky and translucent.
  5. Dust a surface with cornstarch and pour out the mochi mixture to cool.
  6. Divide the cooled mochi into small pieces and flatten each piece.
  7. Place a slice of strawberry (and red bean paste if using) in the center of each piece.
  8. Wrap the mochi around the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
  9. Roll in cornstarch to prevent sticking.
  10. Serve immediately or refrigerate for later enjoyment.

Notes

Adjust sweetness and experiment with different fillings like chocolate or mango.
