Description

Strawberry Pretzel Salad is a classic layered dessert with a crunchy pretzel crust, a sweet cream cheese filling, and a refreshing strawberry gelatin topping. Perfectly sweet, salty, and creamy  a crowd favorite for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups crushed pretzels

3/4 cup melted butter

3 tbsp granulated sugar

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed

2 cups boiling water

1 (6 oz) package strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)

2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a medium bowl, mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tbsp sugar. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.

3. Bake crust for 10 minutes, then let cool completely.

4. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping until combined.

5. Spread the cream cheese layer evenly over the cooled crust, ensuring it reaches the edges to seal and prevent the gelatin from leaking through.

6. In a separate bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Let cool for 15–20 minutes, until slightly thickened.

7. Stir sliced strawberries into the gelatin mixture.

8. Gently pour the strawberry mixture over the cream layer.

9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.

10. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

Make sure the cream cheese layer completely seals the crust to avoid sogginess.

You can use frozen strawberries (thawed and drained) if fresh ones aren’t available.

For a tangy twist, mix a bit of lemon juice into the cream layer.
