Description
Juicy shrimp coated in a sticky, sweet, and spicy gochujang glaze a quick and flavorful Korean-inspired dish that’s perfect over rice or noodles.
Ingredients
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp ginger, minced
2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
1/4 cup water
1 tsp cornstarch (mixed with 1 tbsp water)
Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and water.
2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Add garlic and ginger; sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
4. Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and slightly curled.
5. Pour in the gochujang sauce and stir to coat.
6. Add cornstarch slurry and simmer until sauce thickens and coats the shrimp.
7. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
8. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
Adjust spice level by adding more or less gochujang.
Try adding vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for extra crunch.
Leftovers reheat quickly in a skillet — perfect for meal prep.
