Description
Festive deviled eggs decorated like Christmas trees creamy, tangy, and topped with colorful garnishes for a holiday appetizer that’s as beautiful as it is delicious.
Ingredients
6 large eggs
3 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp white vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
Green food coloring (optional)
Chopped chives (for ‘tree’ effect)
Paprika, diced red bell pepper, or pimentos (for ornaments)
Small star-shaped cheese cutouts (for toppers)
Instructions
1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then remove from heat, cover, and let sit for 10–12 minutes.
2. Transfer eggs to an ice bath and cool completely, then peel.
3. Slice eggs in half lengthwise and remove yolks into a bowl.
4. Mash yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
5. (Optional) Add a drop of green food coloring or mix in finely chopped chives for a festive look.
6. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture into the egg whites, mounding into a tree shape.
7. Decorate with chopped chives for ‘pine needles’, paprika or red pepper bits for ornaments, and top each with a tiny star-shaped piece of cheese.
8. Chill until ready to serve.
Notes
For a natural green hue, use avocado or spinach purée instead of food coloring.
Make ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours before serving.
Add a sprinkle of crispy bacon bits for extra flavor.
