- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened, for frosting)
- 2 tbsp heavy cream (for frosting)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Then add the vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet and dry mixtures, alternating with milk.
- Fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, checking with a toothpick.
- Cool in the tin for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Make the buttercream by beating butter, then adding powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the buttercream.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature ingredients, and avoid overmixing the batter.
