Description
Moist, flavorful whole grain stuffing with apples, celery, and aromatic herbs.
Ingredients
4 cups whole-grain bread cubes
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup diced apples
1 medium onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup unsalted butter or olive oil
1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
1 tsp fresh sage, chopped
1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups low-sodium vegetable or chicken stock
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Toast bread cubes for 10–12 minutes.
3. Sauté celery, onions, and apples in butter until softened.
4. Mix sautéed vegetables with toasted bread and herbs.
5. Gradually add stock until moist but not soggy.
6. Transfer to baking dish, cover with foil, bake 25 minutes.
7. Remove foil and bake 15 more minutes until golden.
Notes
Refrigerate leftovers up to 4 days.
Freeze for up to 3 months.
Use gluten-free bread or grains for dietary adaptations.
