1/2 cup hot water

1 cup chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade)

12 chocolate wafer cookies

12 sugar ice cream cones

1/2 cup melted dark chocolate

Assorted Halloween sprinkles or candy decorations


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Add buttermilk, oil, egg, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

4. Slowly pour in hot water and stir until fully combined; the batter will be thin.

5. Divide the batter evenly among cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

6. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.

7. Frost each cupcake generously with chocolate frosting.

8. Dip the rims of the sugar cones in melted dark chocolate and press them onto chocolate wafer cookies to form hats.

9. Place a hat on top of each frosted cupcake.

10. Decorate the hats with sprinkles or candy belts to create a “witchy” band.
