Description

A delightful twist on traditional brownies, combining rich and fudgy brownie texture with light and airy chocolate mousse.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and granulated sugar over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat, add eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition, then add vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, melt the chopped semi-sweet chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat.
  8. Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form, then gradually add powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  9. Gently fold the cooled melted chocolate into the whipped cream to make the mousse.
  10. Once the brownies are cool, spread the mousse evenly over the top.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  12. Slice into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

For serving, consider garnishing with cocoa powder or fresh berries. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
