- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Chocolate pastry cream (for filling)
- Chocolate glaze
- Chocolate sprinkles or chocolate doughnut crumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the doughnut pan by greasing it with vegetable oil or non-stick spray.
- Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Whisk together the wet ingredients in a separate bowl: buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
- Fill the doughnut pan’s cavities halfway with the batter.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool the doughnuts for a few minutes, then place them on a wire rack to cool completely.
- Fill each doughnut with chocolate pastry cream using a piping bag.
- Glaze the tops of each doughnut with chocolate glaze.
- Add chocolate sprinkles or crumbs on top while the glaze is still wet.
Notes
Store doughnuts in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze for longer storage.
