Description

Delightful bars that combine the flavors of cinnamon rolls with the convenience of a cookie, topped with creamy frosting.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture alternately with the milk until just combined.
  6. Spread half of the batter in the greased baking pan.
  7. Make the cinnamon filling by combining brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of the cinnamon mixture over the batter and swirl with a knife.
  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool the bars on a wire rack.
  11. Make the frosting by beating cream cheese and butter until smooth and gradually adding powdered sugar and vanilla.
  12. Frost the cooled bars and cut into squares.
  13. Serve warm or at room temperature.
