- Combine the sourdough starter, warm water, and sugar in a large bowl. Stir until well combined.
- Add the all-purpose flour and salt gradually, stirring with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Incorporate the cheddar cheese and diced jalapeños by folding them into the dough.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a cloth for about 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) about 30 minutes before the end of the rising time.
- Shape the risen dough into a loaf and place it seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing to ensure better texture and flavor.
