Description
A delightful dessert that combines ripe mango flavors with a light and airy mousse, atop a buttery sponge cake.
Ingredients
Scale
- 200g buttery sponge cake
- 400g yogurt
- 300g ripe mangoes, pureed
- 100g sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons gelatin
- 1/4 cup warm water
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
- Fresh mango slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Buttery Sponge Cake: Start by baking your buttery sponge cake. You can use a store-bought version if you’re short on time.
- Make the Mango Mousse Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, pureed mangoes, sugar, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- Prepare the Gelatin: Dissolve gelatin in warm water, stirring well until fully dissolved.
- Combine Gelatin with Mousse Mixture: Add the dissolved gelatin to the mango yogurt mixture and stir until incorporated.
- Layer the Cake: Place the cooled sponge cake in a cake pan and pour the mousse mixture over it.
- Chill to Set: Refrigerate the cake for at least 240 minutes to allow the mousse to firm up.
- Garnish and Serve: Top with whipped cream and fresh mango slices, then slice and serve chilled.
Notes
Use ripe mangoes for best flavor. Ensure gelatin is fully dissolved and allow ample chill time for best results.
