Description
A light and airy dessert that captures the tropical essence of ripe mangoes, perfect for hot days or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1 tbsp gelatin (optional)
- 2 tbsp warm water (if using gelatin)
Instructions
- Puree the mangoes: Begin by peeling and dicing the ripe mangoes. Next, place the mango pieces into a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth to create a puree.
- Whip the cream: In a mixing bowl, pour in the heavy cream. Using an electric mixer or a whisk, whip the cream until soft peaks start to form.
- Mix the yogurt: In another bowl, combine the sugar, vanilla extract, and yogurt. Mix these ingredients thoroughly until well blended.
- Dissolve the gelatin (if using): If using gelatin, sprinkle it over warm water and stir until fully dissolved.
- Combine the mixtures: Take the mango puree and fold it into the yogurt mixture, stirring gently.
- Incorporate the whipped cream: Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mango-yogurt mixture.
- Add the gelatin (if using): Gently fold it in so that it is evenly distributed throughout the mousse.
- Chill the mousse: Spoon the mousse into serving cups or bowls, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- Serve the mousse: Garnish with extra mango slices or mint leaves before serving.
