- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix the melted butter, milk, and egg in a separate bowl until well blended.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and roll it into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
- Mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and chopped strawberries in another bowl.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture on top of the cream cheese filling.
- Roll up the dough from one long side to form a tight log.
- Cut the log into 12 equal slices using a sharp knife or dental floss.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, close together but not touching.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and fluffy.
- Allow the rolls to cool in the dish for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Best served warm with cream cheese frosting or glaze. Refrigerate leftovers for up to a week.
