Description
A delightful combination of rich flavors and textures, inspired by the popular dessert from After You Dessert Cafe.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- ½ cup of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of crushed cookies (like Oreos or Digestives)
- ½ cup of chocolate chips
- ¼ cup of toasted nuts (optional)
- ½ cup of fruit (like strawberries or bananas) for topping
Instructions
- Start by taking a large mixing bowl. Pour in the heavy cream. Using a hand mixer or a whisk, beat the cream on medium speed until it starts to thicken.
- Next, slowly add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract into the whipped cream. Continue to whisk until the mixture is thick and fluffy. Be careful not to over-whisk.
- Gently fold the crushed cookies into the whipped cream mixture using a spatula, keeping the airiness of the cream.
- After folding in the cookies, add the chocolate chips and gently fold them in until evenly distributed.
- If you choose to add toasted nuts, fold them in at this stage for additional crunch and flavor.
- Take serving glasses or bowls and layer the cream mixture at the bottom followed by sliced fruit.
- Continue to add layers of the cream mixture and fruit until glasses are filled, aiming for two or three layers.
- Once assembled, cover the glasses with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- After chilling, serve the desserts directly in the glasses, adding extra toppings if desired.
Notes
Store in the refrigerator for up to three days. Avoid freezing as it may affect texture.
